Myron C. Anderson

In February, 1942, Myron entered the Army Air Force and received his gunners wings in 1943. As a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress, he served with the 709th Bomb Squadron, 447th Bomb Group and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, European Theatre Service Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the American Defense Ribbon. He was engaged in the Normandy Campaign and a total of 35 combat missions.
