Returning from the Rostock mission (2/24/1944) with three engines failing, the aircraft 42-37855 reached England when the crew bailed out. Lt. Clarence Aaberg was the last to leave the plane, and was killed when his parachute failed to open. See Combat Diary- Richard Pitt, Jr. His place was taken by Lt. George Hoffmeister, co-pilot from the original Keller crew until Thomas F. Moriarty became First Pilot to finish the tour. After that, Co-pilot Moriarty is made First Pilot for the crew
