42-102567 Sarah Gray crashed on take off with Lt. Jesse Sills 1/1/45, Written Off (damaged beyond repair). The aircraft was witnessed leaving the ground with flames on the right wing. It crashed and exploded killing all 9 airmen aboard.

 

Sgt. Morton Leibowitz. Killed January 1, 1945 along with eight other men when aboard B-17 42-102567 (Sarah Gray) crashed on takeoff from Rattlesden air base, England
